Christian frowned and rushed to a corner of the room out of Harriet s sight. Make sure he s secure, Cristina. I m not going anywhere near him. Look at his eyes! Cristina s voice trembled. Ohmigod, and his fangs are getting longer! Those are the biggest I ve ever seen. His fangs are fixed in his head& he s just pulling back his lips so they seem bigger. Besides, those fangs will be buried in your lovely neck if you don t make sure he can t get loose. His voice grew testy. I don t have to run faster than him, I just have to beat you to the door. Cristina shot him a look that could have singed steel. You forget yourself. Christian sneered. Your powerful connections won t do you any good in here, darlin . We re locked in, alone, and raw strength is the only power that matters. Cristina regarded him for a moment before she grinned brightly. But why are we fighting? We ve got things to do. Fun things. And when we re done, I want my wolf jacket. Her fists tightened in Harriet s fur, pulling at the hair and making Harriet s anger rise. Some norms had the nerve to call her a bitch& they should have the misfortune to meet this female piece of work. Christian chuckled. You ll get your fur jacket, my dear. I just have to figure out a way to make her change after I ve had my fun with her. No way am I fucking a wolf- bitch. I like my partners with two legs, not four. A ripple of horror ran along Harriet s fur and she resolved nothing would make her change back to her human shape. Still under the residual influence of the silver in her blood and the full moon she d left behind not so long ago, she felt comfortable and 114 Rogues secure in fur. Unless she really willed it, the change wouldn t come over her for a long while. Nothing the Chris-kids could do would make her. Cristina trailed a finger the wrong way along Harriet s fur as she walked back to where Thomas was tied. You know, she threw the words over her shoulder at Chris, he isn t so scary after all. If he were able to get free, he would have by now. Harriet tried to turn her head to see Thomas. Immediately she heard Chris voice in her ear. You want to watch, little wolfie? Sure, I can fix that. With a jerk he swung the bench a little more until Harriet s head was facing her lover. She tried not to gasp at the sight, his body crisscrossed with silver chains that looked fragile but the metal alone was enough to confine him. Bright red streaks showed on his naked chest where the metal touched his skin and she knew from his mind that the marks burned. His normally sweet dark eyes were aglow with a furious red light that gave Harriet pause. She remembered how he d torn apart the men outside the ship at the space station when they first met and then those in the hold back on the Sleepwalker. Oblivious to the threat the vampire posed, Cristina reached out and stroked a hand along his shoulder. He s strong. A wonderful physical specimen. I hope his cock measures up to his other muscles. If not, I can always help out, Chris offered. Between the two of us, we should be able to give you what you need. Christian, when will you learn? You can warm me up for others, but I don t bang my business partners. Just the throwaways. Right. Chris turned away and Harriet heard him say under his breath, That s going to change, and damned soon. Aloud, he said, So what do you want to start with? We need a little stress relief, you know? He rolled his shoulders and stretched his arms. They ve led us far too long a chase. So they have. Cristina gave up running her palms down Thomas chest. When she turned, Harriet watched her eyes narrow into a wicked expression. The woman was evil and incapable of hiding it. Cristina would never have made a good operative the way she had. Not even close. The stupid bitch would have been made on her first job. Harriet suppressed a snicker. While the Chris-kids were bickering, Harriet tested her bonds once more. No give at all. She couldn t even twitch her paws. Spread as she was, her claws were useless. In order to cut herself free, she d have to reach her bonds first, and she d need traction to do anything. Her toes met nothing but air. She couldn t even tell what they d used to bind her. Shackles, she guessed, but what type? The ones she d noticed on the walk-through with Rick and Thomas were all made for securing and disabling humans. There d been nothing indicating parafolk were welcome or expected in Chris little home away from home. She was positioned so she straddled one of the padded benches. She d bet it had been raised so her paws hovered above the floor, just far enough to prevent her from 115 Liddy Midnight & Cricket Starr touching anything. Her muzzle pointed into the room, where she could see Thomas and Cristina. The other woman had pulled down the straps around her chest and was rubbing her bared breasts across his thighs. Again the red glow of Thomas eyes gave Harriet pause. What an idiot that woman was, to display herself so close to a vampire clearly in the throes of strong bloodlust. From the fierce expression Thomas wore, it was likely closer to a blood craze, although she d never heard of such a thing. Of course, until she met Rick and Thomas, she d never known of psychic communication between the different types of parafolk. Her time spent with them had given her quite an education. Who knew what other unusual circumstances might exist? While she watched, Cristina reached up and drew a fingernail from her shoulder

Dobre pomysły nie mają przeszłości, mają tylko przyszłość. Robert Mallet De minimis - o najmniejszych rzeczach. Dobroć jest ważniejsza niż mądrość, a uznanie tej prawdy to pierwszy krok do mądrości.
